MCIC-Columbus Equipment

The Varian 500-MS LC Ion Trap
The Varian 500-MS is used for high-throughput LC/MS analysis of non-targeted metabolites. The 500-MS provides a robust platform for LC/MS/MS applications.

The UPLC works at higher efficiencies with a much wider range of linear velocities, flow rates, and backpressures compared to HPLC. UPLC generates high peak capacities in short times and these are of particular benefit in analysing the complex mixtures that constitute metabolism samples.  MCIC-Columbus have a new LC-MS that is connected to ACQUITY UPLC Sysytem

The ChemiDoc MP imager
The ChemiDoc MP imager is capable of running protocols to image blots that use various detection reagents for chemiluminescent, colorimetric, and fluorescent applications. It can also image singleplex, multiplex, and stain-free gels and blots.

Experion is an automated platform for nucleic acid and protein analysis that incorporates Chip technology, and performs all of the steps of gel-based protein and nucleic acid electrophoresis in one compact unit.
